Manly Sea Eagles: Check Out the 2019 Round 1 Predicted Team

The return of Coach Des Hasler will boost the confidence of a team that dodged the 2018 wooden spoon, and he has a pool of elite players to make Manly 2019 round 1 team that will kick off the 2019 NRL Premiership campaign with an away win against Tigers.

Coach Des Hasler’s return to Manly is a big boost to the team’s morale, but that will be gauged against their round one results. The last season squad is still intact hence he will not enjoy big-name recruits, apart from the Titans duo, Kane Elgey, and Brendan Elliot, being the only notable new names in the team.

Elgey was purposely signed to address the halves conundrum at Manly and will play alongside skipper Cherry-Evans following the demotion of Lachlan Croker to the development list this season. On the other hand, Elliott will have to battle Brad Parker for a wing spot, given Jono Wright’s and Aku Uate’s departures. So with DCE teaming up with Elgey on the pitch, we are expecting the skipper to be more dangerous than we saw in him last season.

rugby on the fieldDylan Walker is a key player, but his inclusion into the squad is still in limbo. He will have to sort out domestic violence allegations against first him to make to Manly’s 2019 round 1 team. If convicted, he might face sanctions this season. But Des has back up plan in case things turn out bad for Walker. The former Dragons young-gun, Reuben Garrick, is the replacement for Dylan Walker if he gets a conviction. His performance so far is convincing, and he could be elevated to starting side sooner than he expected.

After a dreadful injury last season, Curtis Sironen is making a comeback in 2019 NRL premiers. He will be replacing Shaun Lane in the back row to improve the team defence. His input to the team will be crucial especially after missing some of the critical matches in 2018.

The individual ability of the Trbojevic brothers will also play a significant role in round one, 2019 Telstra Premiership. Both Tom and Jake Trbojevic, together with DCE are some of the elite players in the team. In fact, it is very difficult for any team in the NRL to beat Manly Sea Eagles when these guys are at the top of their games. That is why Des will be relying on the three to beat the Tigers in round one.

So with most of the last season’s team intact and the signing of Kane Elgey, Manly has everything they need to win the round 1 away match against Tigers. But the team performance will mostly depend on the collaboration between Cherry-Evans and Elgey. The fate of Dylan walker will also turnaround Des plans for the Manly 2019 round 1 team.
